Welcome to Rim Runners, LLC. 

My name is Margaret de Hesse and I am the owner of Rim Rim Runners, LLC, ultra runner and all-around outdoor lover.  Several years ago I was first introduced to the rugged beauty of the Rim Country trails by Jeremy Dougherty, founder and former race director of the Mogollon Monster 100 mile race, and super nice guy.

 

Since then I have spent numerous hours and miles running and exploring the Mogollon Rim Trails, Mazatzal Mountain trails, and sections of the Arizona Trail with my best friend and running buddy Patty Albrecht (fondly known as "Honey" to many people).

 

My vision for several years has been to open a running store in Payson, Arizona to support the local runners, hikers, and walkers as well as introduce the beauty of the Rim Country to others. Honey Albrecht has agreed to be the manager of the store and we will do our very best to make the store successful while supporting the Payson community and Arizona Trail Association.

Honey and I are both ultrarunners and are super excited and look forward to serving the running, hiking and walking needs of Payson and surrounding communities.

Rim Runners staff is committed to providing a unique personalized experience for all customers from the novice to the seasoned athlete.

 

Our experienced and professional staff will provide assistance in selection of the best shoes and accessories to provide overall comfort, support and performance, based on the unique fitness and activity needs of each customer.

 

We at Rim Runners are committed to supporting the community efforts towards health and fitness by working with the community, parks and recreation, and the Arizona trail association. We will support existing activities and develop new activities such as group hikes/runs and events for all ages and fitness levels.
 

Personalized Analysis

Customer experience will be personalized to meet the needs of each customer.  Our goal is to get to know each customer…type of activity, injury history, past and future health and fitness goals. Individualized gait analysis will be provided by our professional staff identifying foot strike, form, and biomechanics.  This free service allows us to provide our customers with the correct shoe for overall comfort, support, and performance.

 

The Mogollon Rim Country
 

The Rim trails have elevations that vary from around 5,300 feet to over 8,000 feet. These elevation changes result in changing ecosystems and scenery from the high Sonoran Desert to the largest contiguous Ponderosa Pine forest in the world.  The trails offer Little bit of everything, smooth groomed trails, technical rocky, streams, deserts, pines,  wildlife galore, and never-ending views.  Something for everyone!

The years of running the rim trails have afforded Honey and I the knowledge and experience in navigating the Mogollon Rim trails and the location of the springs that provide a water source when running/Hiking the trail, especially in the summer months.

 

We also have a lot of experience running the trails in the Mazatzal Mountains and Tonto Basin. 

 

We look forward to sharing our love for these trails with you and providing you exceptional products that will enhance your experience.  We aim to be your area resource as it relates to running, hiking or walking in Payson and Arizona's Rim Country.
